But recognize today that the Lord your God is the one who will cross over ahead of you like a devouring fire to destroy them. He will subdue them so that you will quickly conquer them and drive them out, just as the Lord has promised.

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?

Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’

The Lord your God is a devouring fire; he is a jealous God.

“You must destroy all the nations the Lord your God hands over to you. Show them no mercy, and do not worship their gods, or they will trap you.

The Lord your God will drive those nations out ahead of you little by little. You will not clear them away all at once, otherwise the wild animals would multiply too quickly for you.

You must recognize that the Lord your God is not giving you this good land because you are good, for you are not—you are a stubborn people.

in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus.

For our God is a devouring fire.

Joshua slaughtered all the other kings and their people, completely destroying them, just as Moses, the servant of the Lord, had commanded.

Look, the Ark of the Covenant, which belongs to the Lord of the whole earth, will lead you across the Jordan River!

So the people left their camp to cross the Jordan, and the priests who were carrying the Ark of the Covenant went ahead of them.

Then Deborah said to Barak, “Get ready! This is the day the Lord will give you victory over Sisera, for the Lord is marching ahead of you.” So Barak led his 10,000 warriors down the slopes of Mount Tabor into battle.
