The Lord your God will bless you as he has promised. You will lend money to many nations but will never need to borrow. You will rule many nations, but they will not rule over you.

Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates River in the north to the land of the Philistines and the border of Egypt in the south. The conquered peoples of those lands sent tribute money to Solomon and continued to serve him throughout his lifetime.

Solomon’s dominion extended over all the kingdoms west of the Euphrates River, from Tiphsah to Gaza. And there was peace on all his borders.

And now, it has pleased you to bless the house of your servant, so that it will continue forever before you. For when you grant a blessing, O Lord, it is an eternal blessing!”

He ruled over all the kings from the Euphrates River in the north to the land of the Philistines and the border of Egypt in the south.

Powerful kings have ruled over Jerusalem and the entire province west of the Euphrates River, receiving tribute, customs, and tolls.

So you handed them over to their enemies, who made them suffer. But in their time of trouble they cried to you, and you heard them from heaven. In your great mercy, you sent them liberators who rescued them from their enemies.

Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly.

The wicked borrow and never repay, but the godly are generous givers.

The godly always give generous loans to others, and their children are a blessing.

Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender.

“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.

You will receive this blessing if you are careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today.

They will lend money to you, but you will not lend to them. They will be the head, and you will be the tail!
