“If you lend money to any of my people who are in need, do not charge interest as a money lender would.

A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever.

Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.

This is how it must be done. Everyone must cancel the loans they have made to their fellow Israelites. They must not demand payment from their neighbors or relatives, for the Lord’s time of release has arrived.

You may charge interest to foreigners, but you may not charge interest to Israelites, so that the Lord your God may bless you in everything you do in the land you are about to enter and occupy.

“When you make a vow to the Lord your God, be prompt in fulfilling whatever you promised him. For the Lord your God demands that you promptly fulfill all your vows, or you will be guilty of sin.
