Amos 1:4

So I will send down fire on King Hazael’s palace, and the fortresses of King Ben-hadad will be destroyed.

Then the Lord told him, “Go back the same way you came, and travel to the wilderness of Damascus. When you arrive there, anoint Hazael to be king of Aram.

Then Jehoash son of Jehoahaz recaptured from Ben-hadad son of Hazael the towns that had been taken from Jehoash’s father, Jehoahaz. Jehoash defeated Ben-hadad on three occasions, and he recovered the Israelite towns.

So the Lord was very angry with Israel, and he allowed King Hazael of Aram and his son Ben-hadad to defeat them repeatedly.

Some time later, however, King Ben-hadad of Aram mustered his entire army and besieged Samaria.

Asa responded by removing the silver and gold from the treasuries of the Temple of the Lord and the royal palace. He sent it to King Ben-hadad of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus, along with this message:

“‘But if you do not listen to me and refuse to keep the Sabbath holy, and if on the Sabbath day you bring loads of merchandise through the gates of Jerusalem just as on other days, then I will set fire to these gates. The fire will spread to the palaces, and no one will be able to put out the roaring flames.’”

“And I will set fire to the walls of Damascus that will burn up the palaces of Ben-hadad.”

And the people of Egypt will know that I am the Lord when I have set Egypt on fire and destroyed all their allies.

And I will rain down fire on Magog and on all your allies who live safely on the coasts. Then they will know that I am the Lord.

Israel has forgotten its Maker and built great palaces, and Judah has fortified its cities. Therefore, I will send down fire on their cities and will burn up their fortresses.”

So I will send down fire on the walls of Tyre, and all its fortresses will be destroyed.”

So I will send down fire on Teman, and the fortresses of Bozrah will be destroyed.”

So I will send down fire on the walls of Rabbah, and all its fortresses will be destroyed. The battle will come upon them with shouts, like a whirlwind in a mighty storm.

So I will send down fire on the walls of Gaza, and all its fortresses will be destroyed.

So I will send down fire on the land of Moab, and all the fortresses in Kerioth will be destroyed. The people will fall in the noise of battle, as the warriors shout and the ram’s horn sounds.

So I will send down fire on Judah, and all the fortresses of Jerusalem will be destroyed.”

God also punished the men of Shechem for all their evil. So the curse of Jotham son of Gideon was fulfilled.
