The Lord said, “Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now.

The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but he delights in the prayers of the upright.

“Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died.

Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”

Then Barnabas went on to Tarsus to look for Saul.

But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

“No,” Paul replied, “I am a Jew and a citizen of Tarsus in Cilicia, which is an important city. Please, let me talk to these people.”

Then Paul said, “I am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, and I was brought up and educated here in Jerusalem under Gamaliel. As his student, I was carefully trained in our Jewish laws and customs. I became very zealous to honor God in everything I did, just like all of you today.

Repent of your wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive your evil thoughts,

As for Philip, an angel of the Lord said to him, “Go south down the desert road that runs from Jerusalem to Gaza.”

When the believers heard about this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him away to Tarsus, his hometown.

But from there you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.
