“All those who touch a dead human body will be ceremonially unclean for seven days.

“This is the ritual law for Nazirites. At the conclusion of their time of separation as Nazirites, they must each go to the entrance of the Tabernacle

“If someone falls dead beside them, the hair they have dedicated will be defiled. They must wait for seven days and then shave their heads. Then they will be cleansed from their defilement.

“But before all this occurs, there will be a time of great persecution. You will be dragged into synagogues and prisons, and you will stand trial before kings and governors because you are my followers.

Then the Jews stirred up the influential religious women and the leaders of the city, and they incited a mob against Paul and Barnabas and ran them out of town.

Then some Jews arrived from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowds to their side. They stoned Paul and dragged him out of town, thinking he was dead.

Some of the Jews, however, spurned God’s message and poisoned the minds of the Gentiles against Paul and Barnabas.

Then a mob of Gentiles and Jews, along with their leaders, decided to attack and stone them.

Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time.

But when some Jews in Thessalonica learned that Paul was preaching the word of God in Berea, they went there and stirred up trouble.

But when Gallio became governor of Achaia, some Jews rose up together against Paul and brought him before the governor for judgment.

Here we are—Parthians, Medes, Elamites, people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, the province of Asia,

I have done the Lord’s work humbly and with many tears. I have endured the trials that came to me from the plots of the Jews.

You can quickly discover that I arrived in Jerusalem no more than twelve days ago to worship at the Temple.

My accusers saw me in the Temple as I was completing a purification ceremony. There was no crowd around me and no rioting.

Some Jews arrested me in the Temple for preaching this, and they tried to kill me.

They arrested them and, since it was already evening, put them in jail until morning.

They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail.

This roused the people, the elders, and the teachers of religious law. So they arrested Stephen and brought him before the high council.

But one day some men from the Synagogue of Freed Slaves, as it was called, started to debate with him. They were Jews from Cyrene, Alexandria, Cilicia, and the province of Asia.

I have traveled on many long journeys. I have faced danger from rivers and from robbers. I have faced danger from my own people, the Jews, as well as from the Gentiles. I have faced danger in the cities, in the deserts, and on the seas. And I have faced danger from men who claim to be believers but are not.

as they try to keep us from preaching the Good News of salvation to the Gentiles. By doing this, they continue to pile up their sins. But the anger of God has caught up with them at last.
