Then Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent a message to Jeroboam, king of Israel: “Amos is hatching a plot against you right here on your very doorstep! What he is saying is intolerable.

And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.

Then they became insistent. “But he is causing riots by his teaching wherever he goes—all over Judea, from Galilee to Jerusalem!”

During this time, when about 120 believers were together in one place, Peter stood up and addressed them.

That very night the believers sent Paul and Silas to Berea. When they arrived there, they went to the Jewish synagogue.

The believers acted at once, sending Paul on to the coast, while Silas and Timothy remained behind.

For he has set a day for judging the world with justice by the man he has appointed, and he proved to everyone who this is by raising him from the dead.”

But some of the Jews were jealous, so they gathered some troublemakers from the marketplace to form a mob and start a riot. They attacked the home of Jason, searching for Paul and Silas so they could drag them out to the crowd.

We have found this man to be a troublemaker who is constantly stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the cult known as the Nazarenes.

But we want to hear what you believe, for the only thing we know about this movement is that it is denounced everywhere.”
