Demas has deserted me because he loves the things of this life and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus has gone to Dalmatia.

Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come.

But this is all happening to fulfill the words of the prophets as recorded in the Scriptures.” At that point, all the disciples deserted him and fled.

So you cannot become my disciple without giving up everything you own.

Paul and his companions then left Paphos by ship for Pamphylia, landing at the port town of Perga. There John Mark left them and returned to Jerusalem.

But Paul disagreed strongly, since John Mark had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in their work.

Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time.

Paul and Silas then traveled through the towns of Amphipolis and Apollonia and came to Thessalonica, where there was a Jewish synagogue.

And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul’s message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth.

But when some Jews in Thessalonica learned that Paul was preaching the word of God in Berea, they went there and stirred up trouble.

After spending some time in Antioch, Paul went back through Galatia and Phrygia, visiting and strengthening all the believers.

But I had no peace of mind because my dear brother Titus hadn’t yet arrived with a report from you. So I said good-bye and went on to Macedonia to find him.

But God, who encourages those who are discouraged, encouraged us by the arrival of Titus.

But thank God! He has given Titus the same enthusiasm for you that I have.

If anyone asks about Titus, say that he is my partner who works with me to help you. And the brothers with him have been sent by the churches, and they bring honor to Christ.

So we have urged Titus, who encouraged your giving in the first place, to return to you and encourage you to finish this ministry of giving.

All the brothers and sisters here join me in sending this letter to the churches of Galatia.

All the others care only for themselves and not for what matters to Jesus Christ.

For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.

As you know, everyone from the province of Asia has deserted me—even Phygelus and Hermogenes.

The first time I was brought before the judge, no one came with me. Everyone abandoned me. May it not be counted against them.

I am writing to Titus, my true son in the faith that we share. May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior give you grace and peace.

So do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my co-workers.

They have wandered off the right road and followed the footsteps of Balaam son of Beor, who loved to earn money by doing wrong.
