I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before your eyes. Now I will make your name as famous as anyone who has ever lived on the earth!

I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.

David sang this song to the Lord on the day the Lord rescued him from all his enemies and from Saul.

In your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall.

I ground them as fine as the dust of the earth; I trampled them in the gutter like dirt.

These are the last words of David: “David, the son of Jesse, speaks— David, the man who was raised up so high, David, the man anointed by the God of Jacob, David, the sweet psalmist of Israel.

And David became more and more powerful, because the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies was with him.

So David became even more famous when he returned from destroying 18,000 Edomites in the Valley of Salt.

You have endowed him with eternal blessings and given him the joy of your presence.

I will beat down his adversaries before him and destroy those who hate him.

He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble.

So the Lord was with Joshua, and his reputation spread throughout the land.

David continued to succeed in everything he did, for the Lord was with him.

Every time the commanders of the Philistines attacked, David was more successful against them than all the rest of Saul’s officers. So David’s name became very famous.

He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor. For all the earth is the Lord’s, and he has set the world in order.

So Saul, his three sons, his armor bearer, and his troops all died together that same day.

So they sent the Ark of God to the town of Ekron, but when the people of Ekron saw it coming they cried out, “They are bringing the Ark of the God of Israel here to kill us, too!”
