So the servant put her out and locked the door behind her. She was wearing a long, beautiful robe, as was the custom in those days for the king’s virgin daughters.

So when Joseph arrived, his brothers ripped off the beautiful robe he was wearing.

Jacob loved Joseph more than any of his other children because Joseph had been born to him in his old age. So one day Jacob had a special gift made for Joseph—a beautiful robe.

They sent the beautiful robe to their father with this message: “Look at what we found. Doesn’t this robe belong to your son?”

He shouted for his servant and demanded, “Throw this woman out, and lock the door behind her!”

Then Ehud closed and locked the doors of the room and escaped down the latrine.

‘They must be dividing the captured plunder— with a woman or two for every man. There will be colorful robes for Sisera, and colorful, embroidered robes for me. Yes, the plunder will include colorful robes embroidered on both sides.’
