2 Kings 22:1

New Living Translation

Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years. His mother was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah from Bozkath.

Then at the Lord’s command, he shouted, “O altar, altar! This is what the Lord says: A child named Josiah will be born into the dynasty of David. On you he will sacrifice the priests from the pagan shrines who come here to burn incense, and human bones will be burned on you.”

Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years. His mother was Hephzibah.

But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against King Amon, and they made his son Josiah the next king.

He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza. Then his son Josiah became the next king.

You have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you.

What sorrow for the land ruled by a servant, the land whose leaders feast in the morning.

I will make boys their leaders, and toddlers their rulers.

The Lord first gave messages to Jeremiah during the thirteenth year of the reign of Josiah son of Amon, king of Judah.

“But suppose that sinful son, in turn, has a son who sees his father’s wickedness and decides against that kind of life.

The Lord gave this message to Zephaniah when Josiah son of Amon was king of Judah. Zephaniah was the son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son of Amariah, son of Hezekiah.

Hezekiah was the father of Manasseh. Manasseh was the father of Amon. Amon was the father of Josiah.
