Then she said to Elijah, “O man of God, what have you done to me? Have you come here to point out my sins and kill my son?”

Let this Messiah, this King of Israel, come down from the cross so we can see it and believe him!” Even the men who were crucified with Jesus ridiculed him.

When James and John saw this, they said to Jesus, “Lord, should we call down fire from heaven to burn them up?”

Some were jeered at, and their backs were cut open with whips. Others were chained in prisons.

When Saul heard what had happened, he sent other troops, but they, too, prophesied! The same thing happened a third time.
