If anyone comes to your meeting and does not teach the truth about Christ, don’t invite that person into your home or give any kind of encouragement.

“O Lord, God of my master, Abraham,” he prayed. “Please give me success today, and show unfailing love to my master, Abraham.

“No, I cannot,” he replied. “I am not allowed to eat or drink anything here in this place.

And may those who pass by refuse to give them this blessing: “The Lord bless you; we bless you in the Lord’s name.”

This is the letter they took with them: “This letter is from the apostles and elders, your brothers in Jerusalem. It is written to the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia. Greetings!

If anyone does not love the Lord, that person is cursed. Our Lord, come!

I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people.

Take note of those who refuse to obey what we say in this letter. Stay away from them so they will be ashamed.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, we give you this command in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ: Stay away from all believers who live idle lives and don’t follow the tradition they received from us.

If people are causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them.

Anyone who encourages such people becomes a partner in their evil work.

When I come, I will report some of the things he is doing and the evil accusations he is making against us. Not only does he refuse to welcome the traveling teachers, he also tells others not to help them. And when they do help, he puts them out of the church.
