He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

Let the ruins of Jerusalem break into joyful song, for the Lord has comforted his people. He has redeemed Jerusalem.

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.

No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.

But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.

We have been greatly encouraged by this. In addition to our own encouragement, we were especially delighted to see how happy Titus was about the way all of you welcomed him and set his mind at ease.

I have the highest confidence in you, and I take great pride in you. You have greatly encouraged me and made me happy despite all our troubles.

And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God’s message without fear.

So encourage each other with these words.

So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees.
