All the people of Judah had crowned Amaziah’s sixteen-year-old son, Uzziah, as king in place of his father.

Amaziah son of Joash began to rule over Judah in the second year of the reign of King Jehoash of Israel.

All the people of Judah had crowned Amaziah’s sixteen-year-old son, Uzziah, as king in place of his father, Amaziah.

Then the people of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, Jehoram’s youngest son, their next king, since the marauding bands who came with the Arabs had killed all the older sons. So Ahaziah son of Jehoram reigned as king of Judah.

They brought his body back on a horse, and he was buried with his ancestors in the City of David.

After his father’s death, Uzziah rebuilt the town of Elath and restored it to Judah.

But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against King Amon, and they made his son Josiah the next king.

These are the visions that Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. He saw these visions during the years when Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah were kings of Judah.

The Lord gave this message to Hosea son of Beeri during the years when Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah were kings of Judah, and Jeroboam son of Jehoash was king of Israel.

This message was given to Amos, a shepherd from the town of Tekoa in Judah. He received this message in visions two years before the earthquake, when Uzziah was king of Judah and Jeroboam II, the son of Jehoash, was king of Israel.
