But the servant said, “I’ve just thought of something! There is a man of God who lives here in this town. He is held in high honor by all the people because everything he says comes true. Let’s go find him. Perhaps he can tell us which way to go.”

Who are those who fear the Lord? He will show them the path they should choose.

But I carry out the predictions of my prophets! By them I say to Jerusalem, ‘People will live here again,’ and to the towns of Judah, ‘You will be rebuilt; I will restore all your ruins!’

Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.

This is the blessing that Moses, the man of God, gave to the people of Israel before his death:

You yourselves are our witnesses—and so is God—that we were devout and honest and faultless toward all of you believers.

Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work. And live peacefully with each other.

But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.

One day a man of God came to Eli and gave him this message from the Lord: “I revealed myself to your ancestors when they were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt.

“Well,” the servant said, “I have one small silver piece. We can at least offer it to the man of God and see what happens!”
