Surely resentment destroys the fool, and jealousy kills the simple.

People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.

The tongue of the wise makes knowledge appealing, but the mouth of a fool belches out foolishness.

The king’s anger is like a lion’s roar, but his favor is like dew on the grass.

Hot-tempered people must pay the penalty. If you rescue them once, you will have to do it again.

Mockers are proud and haughty; they act with boundless arrogance.

A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.

A stone is heavy and sand is weighty, but the resentment caused by a fool is even heavier.

But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

He said, ‘Please let me go, for we are having a family sacrifice. My brother demanded that I be there. So please let me get away to see my brothers.’ That’s why he isn’t here at the king’s table.”

As long as that son of Jesse is alive, you’ll never be king. Now go and get him so I can kill him!”
