David continued to succeed in everything he did, for the Lord was with him.

The warden had no more worries, because Joseph took care of everything. The Lord was with him and caused everything he did to succeed.

And David became more and more powerful, because the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies was with him.

So the Lord was with him, and Hezekiah was successful in everything he did. He revolted against the king of Assyria and refused to pay him tribute.

He placed army garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became David’s subjects. In fact, the Lord made David victorious wherever he went.

The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the example of his father’s early years and did not worship the images of Baal.

So the Lord was with Joshua, and his reputation spread throughout the land.

The Lord was with the people of Judah, and they took possession of the hill country. But they failed to drive out the people living in the plains, who had iron chariots.

After these signs take place, do what must be done, for God is with you.

One of the servants said to Saul, “One of Jesse’s sons from Bethlehem is a talented harp player. Not only that—he is a brave warrior, a man of war, and has good judgment. He is also a fine-looking young man, and the Lord is with him.”

When Saul recognized this, he became even more afraid of him.

War broke out again after that, and David led his troops against the Philistines. He attacked them with such fury that they all ran away.

As Samuel grew up, the Lord was with him, and everything Samuel said proved to be reliable.
