Each year Solomon received about 25 tons of gold.

And the Lord exalted Solomon in the sight of all Israel, and he gave Solomon greater royal splendor than any king in Israel before him.

So King Solomon became richer and wiser than any other king on earth.

“Wasn’t this exactly what led King Solomon of Israel into sin?” I demanded. “There was no king from any nation who could compare to him, and God loved him and made him king over all Israel. But even he was led into sin by his foreign wives.

She offers you long life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left.

She will place a lovely wreath on your head; she will present you with a beautiful crown.”

God gives some people great wealth and honor and everything they could ever want, but then he doesn’t give them the chance to enjoy these things. They die, and someone else, even a stranger, ends up enjoying their wealth! This is meaningless—a sickening tragedy.

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
