New Living Translation

The king cried out to the man of God, “Please ask the Lord your God to restore my hand again!” So the man of God prayed to the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored and he could move it again.

At the same time a wide crack appeared in the altar, and the ashes poured out, just as the man of God had predicted in his message from the Lord.

Nevertheless, King Zedekiah sent Jehucal son of Shelemiah, and Zephaniah the priest, son of Maaseiah, to ask Jeremiah, “Please pray to the Lord our God for us.”

The people of Bethel had sent Sharezer and Regemmelech, along with their attendants, to seek the Lord’s favor.

So Moses cried out to the Lord, “O God, I beg you, please heal her!”

Then the people came to Moses and cried out, “We have sinned by speaking against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take away the snakes.” So Moses prayed for the people.

But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.

He fell to his knees, shouting, “Lord, don’t charge them with this sin!” And with that, he died.

“Pray to the Lord for me,” Simon exclaimed, “that these terrible things you’ve said won’t happen to me!”

Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.

Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

Look, I will force those who belong to Satan’s synagogue—those liars who say they are Jews but are not—to come and bow down at your feet. They will acknowledge that you are the ones I love.

“Pray to the Lord your God for us, or we will die!” they all said to Samuel. “For now we have added to our sins by asking for a king.”

“As for me, I will certainly not sin against the Lord by ending my prayers for you. And I will continue to teach you what is good and right.
