And all the royal officials have gone to King David and congratulated him, saying, ‘May your God make Solomon’s fame even greater than your own, and may Solomon’s reign be even greater than yours!’ Then the king bowed his head in worship as he lay in his bed,

“Swear that you will do it,” Jacob insisted. So Joseph gave his oath, and Jacob bowed humbly at the head of his bed.

David asked them, “What can I do for you? How can I make amends so that you will bless the Lord’s people again?”

he sent his son Joram to congratulate King David for his successful campaign. Hadadezer and Toi had been enemies and were often at war. Joram presented David with many gifts of silver, gold, and bronze.

And may the Lord be with Solomon as he has been with you, my lord the king, and may he make Solomon’s reign even greater than yours!”

Then they will be able to offer acceptable sacrifices to the God of heaven and pray for the welfare of the king and his sons.

Take your flocks and herds, as you said, and be gone. Go, but bless me as you leave.”

“Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!”

It was by faith that Jacob, when he was old and dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons and bowed in worship as he leaned on his staff.
