So I asked, “What is it?” And he said, “It is a basket that is going forth.” He also said, “This is their resemblance throughout the earth:
Saying: “When will the New Moon be past, That we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, That we may trade wheat? Making the ephah small and the shekel large, Falsifying the scales by deceit,
You shall have honest scales, honest weights, an honest ephah, and an honest hin: I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
Here is a lead disc lifted up, and this is a woman sitting inside the basket”;
Hear this, you who swallow up the needy, And make the poor of the land fail,
That we may buy the poor for silver, And the needy for a pair of sandals— Even sell the bad wheat?”
Are there yet the treasures of wickedness In the house of the wicked, And the short measure that is an abomination?
In the same day I will punish All those who leap over the threshold, Who fill their masters’ houses with violence and deceit.
