What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.

But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!

Who say, ‘Keep to yourself, Do not come near me, For I am holier than you!’ These are smoke in My nostrils, A fire that burns all the day.

For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”

What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.

What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything?

For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unjust who inflicts wrath? (I speak as a man.)

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, “This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner.”

Who can say, “I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin”?

Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.

What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision?

For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.
