Lord, how long will the wicked, How long will the wicked triumph?
And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”
That the triumphing of the wicked is short, And the joy of the hypocrite is but for a moment?
They scoff and speak wickedly concerning oppression; They speak loftily.
For You are the God of my strength; Why do You cast me off? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
“O you sword of the Lord, How long until you are quiet? Put yourself up into your scabbard, Rest and be still!
How long, Lord? Will You hide Yourself forever? Will Your wrath burn like fire?
O Lord God of hosts, How long will You be angry Against the prayer of Your people?
How long, Lord? Will You be angry forever? Will Your jealousy burn like fire?
So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king’s wrath subsided.
And Esther said, “The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman!” So Haman was terrified before the king and queen.
O Lord, how long shall I cry, And You will not hear? Even cry out to You, “Violence!” And You will not save.
