The wicked is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, But the righteous will come through trouble.

This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

Thus Israel saw the great work which the Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord and His servant Moses.

And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord.

But the word of the Lord was to them, “Precept upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little,” That they might go and fall backward, and be broken And snared and caught.

“As for the head of those who surround me, Let the evil of their lips cover them;

On an instrument of ten strings, On the lute, And on the harp, With harmonious sound.

The net takes him by the heel, And a snare lays hold of him.

His trouble shall return upon his own head, And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.

Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you.
