I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.

For the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.

As with a breaking of my bones, My enemies reproach me, While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

“Now consider this, you who forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, And there be none to deliver:

Lest they tear me like a lion, Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

Now if you are ready at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, and you fall down and worship the image which I have made, good! And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

The rest said, “Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to save Him.”

And Saul was told that David had gone to Keilah. So Saul said, “God has delivered him into my hand, for he has shut himself in by entering a town that has gates and bars.”
