The Lord is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.

If you say, “Surely we did not know this,” Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear;

But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.

knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.

O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies.

Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair.’ O house of Israel, I will judge every one of you according to his own ways.”

‘The king will mourn, The prince will be clothed with desolation, And the hands of the common people will tremble. I will do to them according to their way, And according to what they deserve I will judge them; Then they shall know that I am the Lord!’ ”

You are great in counsel and mighty in work, for Your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, to give everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children,

For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all.

If it is a matter of strength, indeed He is strong; And if of justice, who will appoint my day in court?

For God may speak in one way, or in another, Yet man does not perceive it.

As for the Almighty, we cannot find Him; He is excellent in power, In judgment and abundant justice; He does not oppress.
