My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say to me, “Where is your God?”

Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Let there be known among the nations in our sight The avenging of the blood of Your servants which has been shed.

Why should the Gentiles say, “So where is their God?”

Let the priests, who minister to the Lord, Weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord, And do not give Your heritage to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ ”

For I have eaten ashes like bread, And mingled my drink with weeping,

You have fed them with the bread of tears, And given them tears to drink in great measure.

As with a breaking of my bones, My enemies reproach me, While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

And return to our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom Their reproach with which they have reproached You, O Lord.

“He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”

Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah

It may be that the Lord will look on my affliction, and that the Lord will repay me with good for his cursing this day.”

“Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord God.

For who is there of all flesh who has heard the voice of the living God speaking from the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?

So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.

Even the sparrow has found a home, And the swallow a nest for herself, Where she may lay her young— Even Your altars, O Lord of hosts, My King and my God.

I spread out my hands to You; My soul longs for You like a thirsty land. Selah
