The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; He has ceased to be wise and to do good.

For I have kept the ways of the Lord, And have not wickedly departed from my God.

And he walked in the way of his father Asa, and did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord.

His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; Under his tongue is trouble and iniquity.

As for such as turn aside to their crooked ways, The Lord shall lead them away With the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel!

They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; The poison of asps is under their lips. Selah

For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall.

“For My people are foolish, They have not known Me. They are silly children, And they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, But to do good they have no knowledge.”

Israel has rejected the good; The enemy will pursue him.

Those who have turned back from following the Lord, And have not sought the Lord, nor inquired of Him.”

Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying,

And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order.

But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

But Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.”

But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the Lord troubled him.

So Saul said, “I will give her to him, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him.” Therefore Saul said to David a second time, “You shall be my son-in-law today.”

Then Saul said, “I have sinned. Return, my son David. For I will harm you no more, because my life was precious in your eyes this day. Indeed I have played the fool and erred exceedingly.”
