Let them not rejoice over me who are wrongfully my enemies; Nor let them wink with the eye who hate me without a cause.

By this I know that You are well pleased with me, Because my enemy does not triumph over me.

I cried to Him with my mouth, And He was extolled with my tongue.

Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Let there be known among the nations in our sight The avenging of the blood of Your servants which has been shed.

We have become a reproach to our neighbors, A scorn and derision to those who are around us.

All who pass by clap their hands at you; They hiss and shake their heads At the daughter of Jerusalem: “Is this the city that is called ‘The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth’?”

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.

“Then the officers shall speak to the people, saying: ‘What man is there who has built a new house and has not dedicated it? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle and another man dedicate it.
