But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people.

Thus says the Lord, The Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, To Him whom man despises, To Him whom the nation abhors, To the Servant of rulers: “Kings shall see and arise, Princes also shall worship, Because of the Lord who is faithful, The Holy One of Israel; And He has chosen You.”

He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

Let him give his cheek to the one who strikes him, And be full of reproach.

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”

Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”

And the Jews marveled, saying, “How does this Man know letters, having never studied?”

The people answered and said, “You have a demon. Who is seeking to kill You?”

Then the Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?”

Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.

They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!
