Let the righteous strike me; It shall be a kindness. And let him rebuke me; It shall be as excellent oil; Let my head not refuse it. For still my prayer is against the deeds of the wicked.

So it was, as he talked with him, that the king said to him, “Have we made you the king’s counselor? Cease! Why should you be killed?” Then the prophet ceased, and said, “I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not heeded my advice.”

Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, And to those who are upright in their hearts.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion; Build the walls of Jerusalem.

Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, But he who hates correction is stupid.

Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established.

A fool despises his father’s instruction, But he who receives correction is prudent.

Strike a scoffer, and the simple will become wary; Rebuke one who has understanding, and he will discern knowledge.

Like an earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold Is a wise rebuker to an obedient ear.

For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise Than for a man to hear the song of fools.

‘You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,

Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
