Be surety for Your servant for good; Do not let the proud oppress me.

You rebuke the proud—the cursed, Who stray from Your commandments.
“Now put down a pledge for me with Yourself. Who is he who will shake hands with me?
Let not the foot of pride come against me, And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
I myself will be surety for him; from my hand you shall require him. If I do not bring him back to you and set him before you, then let me bear the blame forever.
