Now it happened one day that Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a notable woman, and she persuaded him to eat some food. So it was, as often as he passed by, he would turn in there to eat some food.

But they sent me this message four times, and I answered them in the same manner.

They speak idly everyone with his neighbor; With flattering lips and a double heart they speak.

For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey, And her mouth is smoother than oil;

To keep you from the evil woman, From the flattering tongue of a seductress.

Immediately he went after her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, Or as a fool to the correction of the stocks,

That they may keep you from the immoral woman, From the seductress who flatters with her words.

Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

But they constrained Him, saying, “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went in to stay with them.

And when she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” So she persuaded us.

For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died;

Now she had wept on him the seven days while their feast lasted. And it happened on the seventh day that he told her, because she pressed him so much. Then she explained the riddle to the sons of her people.

But he refused and said, “I will not eat.” So his servants, together with the woman, urged him; and he heeded their voice. Then he arose from the ground and sat on the bed.
