Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction, But he who regards a rebuke will be honored.

A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul, But it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil.

The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul, But the stomach of the wicked shall be in want.

It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise Than for a man to hear the song of fools.

We lie down in our shame, And our reproach covers us. For we have sinned against the Lord our God, We and our fathers, From our youth even to this day, And have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.”
