The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way aright, But the wicked will fall by his own wickedness.

Now when Ahithophel saw that his advice was not followed, he saddled a donkey, and arose and went home to his house, to his city. Then he put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died; and he was buried in his father’s tomb.

The steps of his strength are shortened, And his own counsel casts him down.

But they lie in wait for their own blood, They lurk secretly for their own lives.

The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.

A man is not established by wickedness, But the root of the righteous cannot be moved.

The wicked is banished in his wickedness, But the righteous has a refuge in his death.

In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

His own iniquities entrap the wicked man, And he is caught in the cords of his sin.

The way of the just is uprightness; O Most Upright, You weigh the path of the just.

The pride of Israel testifies to his face; Therefore Israel and Ephraim stumble in their iniquity; Judah also stumbles with them.

And when the men of Israel turned back, the men of Benjamin panicked, for they saw that disaster had come upon them.
