He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor, But a man of understanding holds his peace.
who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;
In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.
Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him.
He who despises his neighbor sins; But he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.
But the people held their peace and answered him not a word; for the king’s commandment was, “Do not answer him.”
But some rebels said, “How can this man save us?” So they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.
Then Zebul said to him, “Where indeed is your mouth now, with which you said, ‘Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him?’ Are not these the people whom you despised? Go out, if you will, and fight with them now.”
