To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

But He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him:

Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless?

But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless.

And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”

for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Jesus answered and said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
