Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him,

And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali,

So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own city.

So when the centurion, who stood opposite Him, saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!”

And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house.

And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said to the centurion who stood by, “Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, and uncondemned?”

Then Paul called one of the centurions to him and said, “Take this young man to the commander, for he has something to tell him.”

And he called for two centurions, saying, “Prepare two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea at the third hour of the night;

When the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their desire, putting out to sea, they sailed close by Crete.

Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, “Unless these men stay in the ship, you cannot be saved.”

But the centurion, wanting to save Paul, kept them from their purpose, and commanded that those who could swim should jump overboard first and get to land,

And since Lydda was near Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them.
