And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.
And there was one named Barabbas, who was chained with his fellow rebels; they had committed murder in the rebellion.
who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
Then they all cried again, saying, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.
And he released to them the one they requested, who for rebellion and murder had been thrown into prison; but he delivered Jesus to their will.
Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished.
Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”
