The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.”
There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him.
But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.”
Now it happened, as He went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees to eat bread on the Sabbath, that they watched Him closely.
Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat.
Then Levi gave Him a great feast in his own house. And there were a great number of tax collectors and others who sat down with them.
And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.
And as He spoke, a certain Pharisee asked Him to dine with him. So He went in and sat down to eat.
For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’
But wisdom is justified by all her children.”
