But rather give alms of such things as you have; then indeed all things are clean to you.

He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honor.

Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, But he who honors Him has mercy on the needy.

In mercy and truth Atonement is provided for iniquity; And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil.

He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, And He will pay back what he has given.

Therefore, O king, let my advice be acceptable to you; break off your sins by being righteous, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor. Perhaps there may be a lengthening of your prosperity.”

For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.

Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.

because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?”

Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys.

“And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home.

So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”

And a voice spoke to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed you must not call common.”

Then the disciples, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea.

“Now after many years I came to bring alms and offerings to my nation,

For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have.

Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.

To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled.

But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
