But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
“How lovely are your tents, O Jacob! Your dwellings, O Israel!
And Balaam raised his eyes, and saw Israel encamped according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came upon him.
And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, built himself a house, and made booths for his livestock. Therefore the name of the place is called Succoth.

You shall keep it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations. You shall celebrate it in the seventh month.
“But I am the Lord your God, Ever since the land of Egypt; I will again make you dwell in tents, As in the days of the appointed feast.
I have also spoken by the prophets, And have multiplied visions; I have given symbols through the witness of the prophets.”
