From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.
But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.
Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”
Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?”
for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica—Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia.
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
This you know, that all those in Asia have turned away from me, among whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.
But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him.
Those who have turned back from following the Lord, And have not sought the Lord, nor inquired of Him.”
Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.
His brothers therefore said to Him, “Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing.
