Your words have upheld him who was stumbling, And you have strengthened the feeble knees;

When the ear heard, then it blessed me, And when the eye saw, then it approved me;

I chose the way for them, and sat as chief; So I dwelt as a king in the army, As one who comforts mourners.

Surely you have instructed many, And you have strengthened weak hands.

But now it comes upon you, and you are weary; It touches you, and you are troubled.

The Lord upholds all who fall, And raises up all who are bowed down.

There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health.

Then the king’s countenance changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his hips were loosened and his knees knocked against each other.

so that, on the contrary, you ought rather to forgive and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one be swallowed up with too much sorrow.

Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus,

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.

Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees,
