They are higher than heaven— what can you do? Deeper than Sheol— what can you know?

Destruction and Death say, ‘We have heard a report about it with our ears.’

For now I would have lain still and been quiet, I would have been asleep; Then I would have been at rest

Hell and Destruction are never full; So the eyes of man are never satisfied.

“Hell from beneath is excited about you, To meet you at your coming; It stirs up the dead for you, All the chief ones of the earth; It has raised up from their thrones All the kings of the nations.

He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him.

“Though they dig into hell, From there My hand shall take them; Though they climb up to heaven, From there I will bring them down;

And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon.
