So they sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.

God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.

Then they came to the threshing floor of Atad, which is beyond the Jordan, and they mourned there with a great and very solemn lamentation. He observed seven days of mourning for his father.

Then I came to the captives at Tel Abib, who dwelt by the River Chebar; and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.
