While your servant was busy here and there, he was gone.” Then the king of Israel said to him, “So shall your judgment be; you yourself have decided it.”

The steps of his strength are shortened, And his own counsel casts him down.

“Would you indeed annul My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you may be justified?

You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.

Though I were righteous, my own mouth would condemn me; Though I were blameless, it would prove me perverse.

So He will make them stumble over their own tongue; All who see them shall flee away.

For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy!

And he said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow.
