Then Abraham answered and said, “Indeed now, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord:

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

Will not His excellence make you afraid, And the dread of Him fall upon you?

“Hold your peace with me, and let me speak, Then let come on me what may!

The memory of him perishes from the earth, And he has no name among the renowned.

How then can you comfort me with empty words, Since falsehood remains in your answers?”

Moreover Job continued his discourse, and said:

How much more those who dwell in houses of clay, Whose foundation is in the dust, Who are crushed before a moth?

But You, O Lord, shall endure forever, And the remembrance of Your name to all generations.

Let them be continually before the Lord, That He may cut off the memory of them from the earth;

The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.”

The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot.

They are dead, they will not live; They are deceased, they will not rise. Therefore You have punished and destroyed them, And made all their memory to perish.

For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
