We have become like those of old, over whom You never ruled, Those who were never called by Your name.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down With darkness under His feet.

For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel for His special treasure.

And He rode upon a cherub, and flew; He flew upon the wings of the wind.

Pour out Your wrath on the nations that do not know You, And on the kingdoms that do not call on Your name.

Your holy people have possessed it but a little while; Our adversaries have trodden down Your sanctuary.

Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence—

O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies.

O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name.”

That they may possess the remnant of Edom, And all the Gentiles who are called by My name,” Says the Lord who does this thing.

who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways.

So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the Lord who does all these things.’

that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

The mountains gushed before the Lord, This Sinai, before the Lord God of Israel.
